尹一平來自中國北京中央樂團（現為中國國家交響樂團），師承中國著名歌唱家張利娟和韓德章，曾是中國著名“銀河重唱團”的成員，並成功舉辦過“四重唱音樂會”。多次應邀參加演出中央電視臺舉辦的大型節目和為電影電視配樂。
移居香港後，從事聲樂教學和合唱團聲樂指導及指揮工作，曾擔任香港華人華僑總會合唱團合唱指揮、香港草田音樂協進會合唱團指揮和香港廣西商會歌詠團合唱指揮。曾在亞洲電視主辦的青年歌唱比賽和香港銀行公會主辦的歌唱比賽中擔任評委。
現擔任香港女聲合唱團音樂總監及指揮、香港中華總商會合唱團音樂總監及指揮、香港培僑中學校友會合唱團之音樂總監及指揮、香港文職人員協會聲樂團聲樂指導和香港港區政協合唱團創團指揮。
近年專研美聲的聲樂教學，探索美聲唱法和中國傳統唱法的融合，通過教學、合唱指揮和舞臺的演出，積極推動香港聲樂領域趨向專業化和普及化。

From Chinese Beijing Central Philharmonic Orchestra (now Chinese National Symphony Orchestra), learned from Chinese famous singer Zhang Lijuan and Han Dezhang, was a member of the famous “Galaxy Ensemble”, and successfully held the “Four Duet Concert”. Gave performances in large parties held by CCTV and underscored for films and televisions.
After moving to Hong Kong, engaged in giving vocal music lessons and guiding the work of choruses. Served as the conductor on the chorus of Hong Kong Overseas Chinese General Association, the chorus of Lai Cho Tin Memorial Music Development Association and the chorus of Hong Kong-Guangxi Chamber of Commerce. Served as a judge at the youth singing competition held by Asia Television Limited and the singing competition held by Hong Kong Association of Banks.
Now serves as the music director and conductor on the Hong Kong Girls Chorus, the music director and conductor on the chorus of Hong Kong Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the music director and conductor on the chorus of Hong Kong Pui Kiu Middle School’s Alumni Association, the vocal music director on the chorus club of China Everbright Group, the vocal music director on the chorus club of Hong Kong Clerical Staff Union and the conductor on the chorus of Hong Kong CPPCC.
In recent years, has been studying the singing style with a combination of bel canto and Chinese traditional singing. Through teaching, choral conducting and stage performance, actively promotes specialization and popularization on Hong Kong vocal music industry.
